Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to assetra.co and the related websites, applications, and services operated under the Assetra name. It does not apply to third-party websites or services linked from Assetra.
By using Assetra, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Assetra, we may collect:
- Account information, such as your name, email address, profile details, and identifiers provided by a sign-in provider such as Google.
- Collection content, including card details, certification numbers, collection and watchlist entries, scans, images, notes, and links you choose to create or share.
- Communications, including messages, support requests, waitlist submissions, and other information you send us.
- Usage and device information, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, and diagnostic or security logs.
- Preferences stored on your device, such as your currency, theme, display settings, and unfinished or recently saved scan state.
How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, operate, personalize, and improve Assetra;
- create accounts and keep you signed in;
- process scans and identify, price, organize, and display cards;
- save collections, watchlists, preferences, and shared pages;
- communicate with you and respond to requests;
- measure performance and understand how the service is used;
- detect fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical problems; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
Scans, uploads, and shared pages
When you submit a scan or image, Assetra may store and process it to detect slabs, read certification information, identify cards, and produce pricing results. Processing may involve service providers that support image storage, recognition, and matching.
Content is private unless you choose to publish it or create a share link. Anyone with a public or shared link may be able to view the information available at that link, so avoid including information you do not want others to see.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, protect accounts, remember preferences, preserve scan progress, and understand service usage. Some preferences are kept in your browser's local storage. You can clear cookies or local storage through your browser, but doing so may sign you out or reset saved preferences and unfinished activity.
Analytics
We may use analytics services, including Plausible Analytics and Google Analytics when enabled, to understand visits and improve Assetra. These providers may receive technical and usage information under their own privacy terms. Browser settings and privacy tools may let you limit some analytics collection.
How we share information
We may share information:
- with service providers that support hosting, databases, storage, authentication, analytics, email, scan processing, and security;
- when you direct us to publish information or create a shared page;
- when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect Assetra, our users, or others; and
- as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the service, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain legitimate business and security records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type. Information stored only in your browser remains there until it expires or you clear it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information. No online service or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may be able to review or update profile and collection information from your account, remove shared content, or request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of personal information. Available rights depend on where you live and may be subject to legal exceptions. You may also control browser storage and certain analytics through your browser or device settings.
Deleting your account
You can delete your Assetra account yourself, at any time, from your profile settings, on the web or in the Assetra app. Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period and we cannot restore an account afterwards, so take a copy of anything you want to keep first.
Deleting your account removes your profile and public profile page, your collection and the images you uploaded or scanned, your collections, watchlists, offers, notifications and notification settings, and every device signed in to the account. If you signed in with Apple, we also tell Apple the sign-in link is finished.
Some information is not removed, because it does not identify you or is not ours alone to delete. Market data stays in the catalog: sale prices, auction records and population figures come from public marketplace and grading sources. A brand, set or franchise you created stays, because other people’s cards are matched against it, but it is no longer linked to you. Scan records are kept without your account attached, for abuse prevention. We may also retain minimal records where the law requires it, and backups are overwritten on their normal cycle.
Children's privacy
Assetra is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
International processing
Assetra and its providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different data protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Assetra evolves. We will post the revised version here and change the effective date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
